Founder & Military Logistics Career
Transportation Leadership Behind a Government Freight Brokerage
The systems, discipline, movement-control experience, and logistics expertise he used to coordinate mission-critical transportation inside the military are now being brought into Cox Logistics to serve government, defense, and commercial transportation needs.
Jonathan A. Cox Jr. is a retired U.S. Army Staff Sergeant and Transportation Management Coordinator (88N) who served as a Movement Supervisor supporting Operation Inherent Resolve and Operation Spartan Shield. His military career was built inside movement control: deployment planning, convoy and unit movement coordination, theater distribution, cargo documentation and in-transit visibility across air, sea, rail and highway modes — CONUS and OCONUS.
He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal for transportation and movement operations, and trained on the systems the defense transportation enterprise runs on, including TC-AIMS II, JOPES and GATES. Academically he holds an M.A. in Transportation & Logistics Management from American Military University, a B.S. in Business from University of Phoenix, a Professional Certificate in Supply Chain Management, and the SOLE Demonstrated Logistician professional designation.
Cox Logistics is the commercial application of that record — a government, defense and commercial freight brokerage and transportation coordination firm arranging transportation through vetted, authorized motor carriers. The differentiator is not veteran ownership alone — it is a documented military logistics record in the exact discipline the firm sells: planning, coordinating, tracking and reporting freight movement to a standard contracting officers recognize.
